A Baby Shower with Buttercream Florals & Fresh Blooms

There’s something magical about a beautifully coordinated event where every detail feels intentional and harmonious. I recently had the pleasure of creating a set of buttercream floral cakes for a dreamy baby shower at Lady Camellia Tea Room, and the entire setup was pure elegance.

For this special occasion, I collaborated with the incredibly talented Tang Austin, ensuring that the floral arrangements and cake decorations were perfectly in sync. We carefully selected soft, romantic tones, pale pinks, delicate greens, and subtle ivory hues to create a seamless connection between the fresh flowers and the hand-piped buttercream florals on each cake. It’s always a joy when cakes don’t just complement the décor but truly feel like an extension of it!

Each cake was decorated with buttercream leaves and blossoms, inspired by the event’s floral theme. The delicate textures and soft colors brought a touch of garden-like beauty to the dessert display, making them as much a part of the décor as they were a treat for guests. Arranged on an elegant gold display shelf, the mini cakes sat alongside fresh floral arrangements, delicate glass vases, and sweet little gift bags for the guests.

I love when my work allows me to collaborate with fellow creatives who share the same eye for detail. Working with Tang Austin on color coordination ensured that everything felt beautifully cohesive—no small detail was overlooked! Whether it’s a baby shower, a wedding, or any special celebration, there’s something so rewarding about seeing cakes and florals come together to create a complete, immersive experience.

This event was a lovely reminder that cakes are more than just dessert—they’re part of the story, adding beauty, meaning, and a personal touch to life’s sweetest moments.

The Sweet Charm of Bows and Rosettes on Cakes

Lately, one cake design has been making a frequent appearance in my kitchen, and honestly, I’m not mad about it! This two-tier cake, with its vintage swirls, bows, and frilly details, has been one of the most requested styles I’ve made.

I’ve created this cake in different color combinations, sometimes swapping in buttercream flowers or adjusting the piping details, and every version has its own unique charm. It’s one of those designs that feels like it belongs at any celebration—a birthday, bridal shower, baby shower, or even just a fancy gathering where cake is a must (which, in my opinion, is always).

I love that people keep coming back for this design and asking for their own version of it!

A Cake Straight Out of a Daydream

Some cakes just have a way of making everything feel a little more special. This one, with its soft pink piping, sugar pearls, and delicate ruffles, is the kind of cake that deserves its own moment. It has that vintage charm that makes you want to pull out your prettiest plates and take things slow—like an afternoon spent sipping tea with good company.

The details were worth every bit of effort, from the tiny piped swirls to the elegant draping. It’s sweet, it’s classic, and it’s a little reminder that sometimes, more really is more when it comes to cake.

If you love vintage-style cakes, this one’s for you. And if you don’t, well… one bite might change your mind.

Angelina Ballerina cake

A storybook cake in the Rose Vanilla style, inspired by 'Angelina's Birthday' by Katharine Holabird and illustrated by Helen Craig. This cake brings a slice of the Mouseland village of Chipping Cheddar to life. On the cake, you'll find Angelina and Alice cycling through buttercream meadows, accompanied by colorful balloons. Each detail, from the hand-painted characters to the delicate bows, adds a touch of magic to the cake, inspired by the pages of the book.

Christmas Tree cakesicles

These sweet cake pop cakesicles decorated up like Christmas Trees are a fun sweet to make and gift this holiday season!
I made these for a special order using a lovely Christmas tree mold. Vanilla cake encased in dark chocolate, decorated with sprinkles and mini holly leaves.

Easter and Carrot Cake

Easter this year was filled with so much gratitude.
I am beyond touched by how many of you ordered Rose Vanilla cakes and sweets for your Easter celebrations.
I celebrate you and all those who are doing their part in not only healthcare but unwavering support for small businesses such as Rose Vanilla.
For the occasion, I made a naked carrot and pecan cake with vanilla bean cream cheese frosting and filling, topped with a rosemary wreath and a watercolor & linen bunting.
